Papyros Shelf Paper Craft Roll
20.5 in. x 82 ft. (140 sq. ft.)
PAPYROS ORGANIC replicates the many advantages of PAPYROS that you have come to expect. The new formula gives the paper a slightly different beige color, which will turn pure white after firing. Other benefits of PAPYROS ORGANIC include:
- Releases fully and cleanly from most glass
- Any fibers left on the glass firing are easily wiped away with one finger
- Stays intact after firing and doesn’t break up into dust
- Almost no odor during or after firing
- Easy clean up, no need for a vacuum
PAPYROS Organic Kiln Shelf Paper is the premium, ceramic-based release paper trusted by glassmakers. Specially formulated to deliver smooth separation, exceptional durability, and effortless cleanup, it’s the only kiln liner enthusiasts and instructors consistently rely on.
Key Features & Benefits
- Skip the primer - go straight to firing: No mixing, no drying - just cut, place, and fire. It’s that simple.
- Superior glass-to-shelf separation: A single layer keeps glass free from kiln shelf adhesion—even at full-fuse temperatures.
- Reduce air bubbles: Its porous, ceramic-based design allows airflow under the glass, preventing unwanted bubbles.
- Minimize breakage: Uniform separation across the shelf reduces stress during expansion, preserving your art.
- Protect kiln shelves & extend lifespan: Keeps kiln bricks clean and intact by minimizing direct glass contact.
- Easy cleanup & reuse: Retains its integrity even after firing - cleaner, safer, and less dusty than alternatives.
How to Use PAPYROS
- Cut a sheet or strip at least 1/2" larger than your glass project.
- Place it on the kiln shelf.
- Fire your piece as usual.
- Remove the glass once cooled; if needed, rinse off residue with water.
- Dispose of the used PAPYROS sheet safely—see handling instructions below.
Safety & Handling Tips
- Wear gloves when handling, especially with pre-fired or residue-covered paper.
- Avoid inhaling dust—use a NIOSH-approved dust respirator and safety glasses with side shields during cleanup.
- If using a vacuum, ensure it’s HEPA-equipped for effective filtration.
- Use a dedicated trash bin with a lid and liner specific for kiln paper disposal.
