2025: 10/24-26 The Fabric of Glass, with Lisa Becker
October 24-26, 2025. 10am-5pm, with a lunch break from 1pm-2pm daily.
Preserve every ruffle, button, and stitch in glass, capturing each intricate detail of your chosen fabric. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn every step of the process—from preparing the fabric and creating the mold to managing firing and annealing, and finally, de-molding the finished piece. This technique is perfect for small items such as baby clothes, trimmed or resized garments, or flat items like fabric purses and plush dolls.
Participants should bring fabric items no larger than 12x14 inches. If you’re interested in baby clothing, second-hand stores often carry pieces sized up to 6 months. Prior to class, students will receive a detailed letter to guide them in selecting appropriate materials. Join us to transform cherished fabric items into enduring glass memories.
