Knitting with Glass
Carol Milne, Master Instructor.
November 4-6, then returning on November 10 for final day of class (projects are in the kiln 11/7-11/9). 9am to 5pm daily.
Class is limited to 8 students.
Learn to knit with glass! Working with strands of wax, students will knit small objects to transform into glass using the lost-wax-casting process. The class will cover all aspects of glass casting: wax-working, spruing waxes, mold-making, kiln schedules, divesting and cold-working. All levels are welcome. But beginners should be prepared to be challenged.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Combining her passion for knitting with her love for cast glass and sculpture, Carol Milne is the lone pioneer in the field of knitted glass: creating knitted work in glass for over a decade. Her home base is in Seattle, but she exhibits and teaches worldwide. You can find her work in museums in Germany, France, Japan and the United States. And in addition to North America she has taught in far flung places like New Zealand, Turkey and Tasmania.
