In this four-day workshop, you’ll combine traditional mosaic artistry with kiln-formed glass techniques to create a richly layered, double-sided mosaic that plays with color, texture, and dimension.

Instead of using traditional grout, you’ll learn how to fill the spaces between your tesserae with powdered frit—a technique known as "frout"—and fuse everything in the kiln. This process not only strengthens your piece but also allows for vibrant, multi-colored backgrounds and smooth finishes.

You’ll design and build an 8” x 8” mosaic composed of four stacked layers of glass, including raised elements for added depth.
